Summer is here, and you don't have to starve yourself in order to look good at the beach. All it takes is choosing healthier foods and consuming less calories than you burn. Today, we'll give you some great options for losing weight and gaining muscle for the summer!

1. Eat Fresh Seasonal Produce
One of the best things you can do for your body is to consumer what nature is producing. Shop at your local farmer's market and pick up a bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Seasonal produce is some of the healthiest food you can buy, and you almost don't have to worry about portion size when it comes to fresh fruit and vegetables. They're that good for you!
2. Stay away from the processed sugar
It's okay to have a soda, margarita, or milkshake every once in a while - but too many, and you'll start to see the calories on your body.
Have a sugary coffee from Starbucks once a month, splurge on ice cream with friends every once in a while, but processed sugar is absolutely terrible for our bodies. Don't overdose!
3. Eat a salad or three
Everyone loves a good salad - right? Salads make for quick, healthy meals -- with no recipes required. They're quick, easy, and most importantly, healthy.
You can even have some fun and spice up your salads by adding some chicken, grains, or nuts. A salad a day keeps the doctor away.
4. Keep Drinking Lots of Water
Water is ALWAYS a good idea - no matter what time of year it is. It's especially important that we stay hydrated and replenished in the summer heat.
If you don't have a take-it-everywhere water bottle yet, now is a good time to buy one. Drink up, live longer.
