Highly Sedentary People Have a Greater Risk of Developing Cancer.
According to this study published by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, sedentary behavior increases the risk of certain cancers. "Physical inactivity has been linked with diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease, but it can also increase the risk of certain cancers", according to a study published June 16 in the JNCI: Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

Frequent Sitters Have a Greater Risk of Developing Obesity
According to this study published by the American Journal of Epidemiology, "the obesity epidemic is attributed in part to reduced physical activity. Evidence supports that reducing time spent sitting, regardless of activity, may improve the metabolic consequences of obesity."
